Cataloguing of multi volume books

Cataloguing > New Record >
Enter volume information in Biblio and Save.
Multi volume details can be enter in item information.

Save the item and add other volume details.

See the final record in OPAC (click on the picture to get enhanced view).

Customise Bibliographic framework

Default cataloguing data entry sheet appears with all MARC-21 fields. This not convenient for fast cataloguing.

How to disable unwanted fields and retain commonly used MARC-21 fields.

Go Administration > MARC Bibliographic Framework

Click on Import button against Books, Booklets, Workbooks
Download a model framework from here and save in your system.

Upload the sample framework. Click on Import button.
Now check your customised Cataloguing data sheet.

Selected fields have arranged in single tab. You can enable or disable more fields again by visiting
Administration > MARC Bibliographic Framework

Customise MARC Bibliographic Framework for easy data entry

Koha cataloging using default MARC Bibliographic Frameworks is difficult due to scattered fields in various tabs. Users may feel difficult to manage with data entry fields after the installation of Koha from scratch. See the default view,

We can arrange most used fields (e.g. Author, Title etc.) in single tab. You can follow the steps to customize any available framework except Default one. Retain default framework as it is.

Click here to download the customized framework in your computer.

Go to
Koha > Administration > MARC Bibliographic Framework > BOOK Books, Booklets > Import

Upload the customized framework file.
Check cataloging module and check the changes done.
